Accessibility Statement
Last updated: June 2026
BARQ is committed to ensuring our website and platform are accessible to everyone, regardless of ability or technology.
Our Commitment
BARQ is committed to making our website accessible in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. We believe that digital accessibility is a fundamental right and are actively working to ensure our platform meets — and where possible exceeds — internationally recognised accessibility standards.
This statement applies to all pages and services available at barq.com and its subdomains.
Conformance Status
We are targeting WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance across our platform. Our current status is partially conformant — meaning some content does not yet fully meet the standard, but active remediation is in progress.
Known Limitations
We are aware of the following areas that require further work:
- Some older PDF documents may not be fully accessible — we are working to remediate these
- Some third-party embedded content (if used in future) may not meet our accessibility standards
- Complex data tables in the admin portal are being improved for screen reader compatibility
We are committed to resolving these issues as part of our ongoing accessibility programme.
Technical Approach
Our website is built using:
- Next.js — server-side rendered React framework producing valid, semantic HTML
- Tailwind CSS — utility-first CSS with accessible default styles
- Radix UI primitives — accessibility-first component library with built-in ARIA support
- next-intl — internationalisation with proper RTL support for Arabic
Assistive Technologies Tested
We test our platform with the following assistive technologies:
- NVDA screen reader (Windows)
- VoiceOver (macOS and iOS)
- TalkBack (Android)
- Keyboard-only navigation (all major browsers)
- Windows High Contrast mode
Feedback and Contact
We welcome feedback on the accessibility of our platform. If you experience any barriers, or if a page or feature does not meet your accessibility needs, please contact us:
We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within 5 working days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the relevant national enforcement body in your jurisdiction.
Formal Complaints
If you are not satisfied with our response to your accessibility concern, you may escalate to the relevant authority. In the UK, this is the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC). In the EU, contact your national accessibility enforcement body under the Web Accessibility Directive.
Ongoing Improvements
Accessibility is an ongoing priority for BARQ, not a one-time checklist. We conduct periodic accessibility reviews, incorporate user feedback, and train our development team on inclusive design practices.
Our roadmap includes a formal WCAG 2.1 Level AA audit by an independent third party, planned for Q4 2026.
